It is performed in order to overcome the limitations that are being implemented by the hardware manufacturers and carriers, so that they can access all of the settings that a normal user can’t, can run the apps that asks for admin permissions, or to alter some system applications.

Pre-requisite:

  1. Your LG Optimus Elite must be at least 70-80% charged.
  2. Enable the Debugging Mode(USB) (“Settings” -> “Manage Applications” -> “Development” -> “USB Debugging”)
  3. Make sure that you’ve backed up all of the necessary data.
  4. And last but not the least install USB drivers of LG Optimus Elite.

Steps to be followed to root LG Optimus Elite are:

Step 1:

Download CF-Auto-Root & Odin 3.07 files.

Step 2:

Extract the CF-Auto-Root & Odin 3.07 files on your system using the extracting tools (available free).

Step 3:

Now Switch Off your LG Optimus Elite, and then boot your LG Optimus Elite in Download Mode (hold volume down and home button together and after this press power button till your LG Optimus Elite turns on and then press volume up key).

Step 4:

Now launch Odin 3.07 on your PC.

Step 5:

Now connect your LG Optimus Elite to your PC using the USB cable came with your LG Optimus Elite, when your LG Optimus Elite is in Developer Mode.

Step 6:

Now wait till Odin detects your LG Optimus Elite. Whenever the LG Optimus Elite is connected, ID:COM will become yellow and COM port no. will appear. If it fails in detecting your LG Optimus Elite try re-installing the USB drivers.

Step 7:

Now in Odin 3.07, click on PDA button & select the CF-Auto-Root-d2att-d2uc-samsungsghi747.tar.md5 file on your PC.

Step 8:

Just make sure that F.Reset Time and Auto Reboot are ticked in Odin. And also make sure that Re-partition is unticked in Odin.

Step 9:

Now just click on Start, and the installation will begin.

Step 10:

When the installation gets completed, your LG Optimus Elite will get restarted by itself and you will get PASS message and green background on the top-left box in Odin.

Step 11:

Now you can unplug your LG Optimus Elite from your PC and it will be rooted.
