HTC to power half of its 2010 production with Android

htc_logo-550x309The latest Android news that’s buzzing out right now is HTC’s announcement to go for higher adoption rate of Android mobile platform to power its smartphones. So far, the mobile phones that have attributed to Android’s early success belong to HTC’s family and it seems that HTC has also got its fair share of business revenues by choosing Android over Windows Mobile for a couple of its phones.

This year, HTC built 30% phones using Android as its Mobile OS and they are confident enough to rise their Android adoption to around 50% in the next year. HTC is also planning to come up with Qualcomm. BMP(Brew Mobile Platform) based smartphones in the year 2010. BMP has poor penetration in America and Europe so far and this move might even help BMP get deeper into the mainstream telecom. business.

The deployment of BMP-based models togetherwith producting even more Android-powered handsets will help HTC establishing itself as the De-facto Android smartphone line-up.
