What We Know About Google ‘Nexus S’ so far

So finally, we have the sequel to Google’s self branded Android device, Nexus One and that much awaited smartphone is Nexus S. This time around, the differentiating factor with upcoming Google branded smartphone is the hardware manufacturer and Android version installed.
Nexus S will be launching with the latest stock build of Android OS, Gingerbread, without any custom skin that you might see in several existing Android phones due to hardware manufacturers or mobile carriers. Samsung is the manufacturer behind production of Google branded Nexus S.
There is no tentative date of launch of Google Nexus S as yet but one can expect Christmas time as the most strategic timing for the launch of Nexus S phone. Just yesterday, Eric Schmidt, CEO, Google showed off a glimpse of Nexus S at Web 2.0 summit, teasing the media by not giving any detailed info on the specs or giving a chance to anyone for a hands-on experience.
Most chances are that Nexus-S will be launched not only in U.S. but many other countries simultaneously , probably by following a dual mode for sales, both online as well as retail selling.
Considering miserable run of ‘online only’ model while selling Nexus-One phone, Google may not like to repeat the same old mistake and rely wholly on Online-only model.
Being the first phone with latest and most advanced Android version, Gingerbread, this is the hottest phone to look forward to. Stay tuned for more updates on Nexus-S…
