On the occasion of China Mobile Application platform’s launch, Dell finally unveilled its rumored flagship Smartphone, Dell Mini 3i but there’s more of a disappointing stuff from Dell than anything to feel excited about.

Dell Mini 3i features a 3.5-inch, 360 x 640 pixel capacitive touchscreen, 3 megapixel camera, microSD slot, Bluetooth support and other common features and powered by Android-based Open Mobile System (OMS) but the main disappointment comes from the fact that Dell’s first smartphone has got no Wi-Fi support and no 3G support as well.

Dell Mini 3i is a pure 2G GSM based cellphone and it appears that Dell is more interested in asian markets during its early stint in handset manufacturing business. Most of the asian countries, mainly China and India are still dominated with 2G GSM networks and this poor penetration of 3G and Wi-Fi Networks in asian coutries makes Dell Mini 3i an appropriate candidate in Mobile Handset landscape among asian continent.

Dell may announce 3G handsets for US and european markets early next year but right now, you’ve got your rights to be disappointed from Dell.
